Monday was my last day before starting back to work. Drew started back on Monday, so O and I were a duo for the day. We had breakfast and play time in the morning, and then we left right after lunch to drive to the town where O's friend from school, Julia, is being hosted for the summer.
O got to see where she lives, and she was so excited to walk him around and show him everything. We had a little snack at their house, and then headed out for some bowling. The two of them were so funny talking to each other and playing together. All I know for sure is that O talked to J for a while about one of his favorite subjects - Harry Potter!
They had fun bowling, and always wanted to know how many pins were knocked down. By the time we left though, O was EXHAUSTED. He wanted to hang out more with J, so we decided to stick around for dinner and drive back after. By the time we made it to the restaurant though, he was fast asleep. He made it into the restaurant and continued to sleep at the table. He woke up only long enough to eat his dinner!
So, we said our goodbyes and headed home. The family hosting J happens to live in the same town as my parents though, so we will definitely try to get together again this summer!
On Tuesday we had our first regular day with both Drew and I working. O was fine with the baby, but wasn't really interested in interacting with her very much. We had a quiet morning, and then we had our first official lesson time once Em went down for her nap. He really seemed to enjoy it, so hopefully it will be a fun activity for us each afternoon.
Of course there was some swimming involved in our day. And lots of splashing too.
Funny detail: When we were swimming on July 4th, I asked Drew to move the pool into the sun because I was cold in the shade. Now O asks every time to make sure the pool is in the sun. Ha!
